Police investigating serious crash near Dresden

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash just outside of Dresden that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they were called to the scene at Dawn Mills Road near Croton Line at around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers said their investigation so far shows that a 27-year-old North York woman was heading east on Croton Line when her vehicle hit another vehicle that was being driven by a 64-year-old Dresden woman who was heading north on Dawn Mills Road.

Police said both women were taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with serious injuries before they were transferred to a pair of regional hospitals for further treatment.

The North York woman was airlifted to a hospital in London while the Dresden woman was taken via ambulance to a hospital in Windsor.

The damage caused by the crash has been estimated at $50,000 and the Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation.
