Active COVID cases down two, new outbreak declared

Lambton Public Health reported just two new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported a total of 3,545 infections since the start of the pandemic over a year ago.

Cases considered resolved increased by four to 3,457, lowering the active case count by two to 27.

For the first time in two weeks there's an outbreak of the virus. The health unit said there are three cases linked to the Bkejwanong Children's Centre at Walpole Island.

Bluewater Health had five COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Sunday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
