Just two new COVID-19 cases in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added two new cases of COVID-19 Monday, in Brockton and South Bruce. Officials reported two residents are hospitalized with the virus outside of the region.

There are 42 active cases, and one active variant of concern. The Delta variant is now confirmed in the region as well, though the case is no longer active.

Huron Perth public Health reported no new cases today. There are 22 active cases, of which eight are variants. One resident remains in hospital with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported no new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday. There are six people hospitalized and another three residents in the ICU. there are four workplace outbreaks.

In Wellington County, there are seven active cases, including one in Mapleton and one in Wellington North.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
