Sarnia-Lambton COVID death toll reaches 62

Lambton Public Health is reporting another death linked to COVID-19.

The health unit's daily update Tuesday showed the death toll since the beginning of the pandemic has increased by one to 62. Health officials said it was an individual in their 30s.

The number of confirmed cases increased by four to 3,549, and the number of cases considered resolved went up by five to 3,462, lowering the number of active infections by two to 25.

Since March 3, the number of cases involving variants of concern has climbed to 620.

Bluewater Health had six COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
