Eight new COVID-19 cases added in Wellington Dufferin Guelph

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added eight new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, two of them in Wellington County.

There are eight active cases in Wellington County including one in Mapleton and one in Wellington North.

Across the health jurisdiction, nearly 74% of the eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

There are four workplace outbreaks. Three people are in hospital with the virus, and another two residents are fighting the virus in the ICU.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
