LPH reports six new COVID cases

Lambton Public Health reported six new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, the health unit has reported 3,564 confirmed cases of the virus.

The health unit said 3,475 cases have been deemed resolved, unchanged from Sunday, increasing the active case count by six to 27.

The death toll stands at 62 and there is one active outbreak at Bkejwanong Children's Centre at Walpole Island. Three cases have been linked to the child care centre.

Since March 3, the number of cases involving variants of concern has reached 625.

Bluewater Health had six COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Sunday.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
