Lotto Max prize won in Chatham-Kent

It's not the $70 million jackpot, but it's better than nothing.

Someone in Chatham-Kent won a $100,000 Encore prize in Tuesday night's Lotto Max draw.

The record $70 million prize was split between two tickets, one in Toronto and one in British Columbia. It took eight weeks and 17 draws for the historic jackpot to be won.

Thirty of the 70 Maxmillions prizes were also won Tuesday night, but none in Chatham-Kent.

Friday night's Lotto Max jackpot is nothing to sneeze at either. There's an estimated $50 million up for grabs, along with two $1 million Maxmillions prizes.

"With the popularity of Lotto Max, we advise our valued customers to buy their tickets early to beat the rush online at OLG.ca or at authorized OLG retailers," wrote Ontario Lottery and Gaming  in a statement.

Tickets can be purchased until 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 for that draw.
