The team finished the group stage with a 1-2 record after falling 31-0 to France on Thursday night.
They then missed the quarterfinals on a tiebreaker by two points.
Canada regrouped to beat Brazil 45-0 on Friday morning. Nicholas scored two points on a successful conversion in the win.
The team will play in the 9-10 placement match Friday at 8:30 p.m.
