Wallaceburg resident charged in Corunna assault

A Wallaceburg resident is accused of assaulting staff members at an establishment in Corunna that participated in Captain Kidd Days.

Lambton County OPP said officers were called about an assault around 11:40 p.m. Saturday.

Police said an event security guard was struck while attempting to help another staff member who was dealing with "an unruly patron". The security guard was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Witnesses identified the alleged culprit as a 24-year-old woman from Wallaceburg.

The accused was charged with two counts of assault and has a future court date scheduled for October 4.

Captain Kidd Days is a popular weekend event named after the infamous Scottish sailor Captain William Kidd, who legend has it, buried treasure in St. Clair Township.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
