Police arrest two people on separate warrants

Chatham-Kent police apprehended two people with outstanding warrants over the past 24 hours.

Police arrested a 42-year-old man on Fifth Street wanted on a warrant for mischief over $5,000.

Later on, a 58-year-old man was arrested on Wellington Street on a warrant for failing to attend court.

Both men were held pending a bail hearing.

Officers notified of suspicious men on business property

Police responded to a call of two suspicious men observed on the property of a business on Charing Cross Road in Chatham.

At around 5 p.m. Wednesday, officers arrived at the business and located two men, aged 35 and 38.

The men were arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession under $5,000.

Both of the accused were later released from police custody with a future court date of September 8.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
