Man arrested after causing disturbance 

A 24-year-old man had to spend some time with Chatham-Kent police after reportedly causing a disturbance in the municipality.

Around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police said they received multiple calls about a man who was running into traffic.

The Chatham man was located by officers and transported to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for suspected drug use.

Break and enter in Merlin

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips after a break and enter in Merlin.

According to police, it happened at a residence on Merlin Road. Through investigation it was determined that sometime between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on August 4, suspects entered the home and stole jewellery and clothing.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Chatham-Kent Police or Crime Stoppers.

Assault in Chatham 

A 28-year-old man is in trouble with the law after allegedly assaulting someone in Chatham.

The man was arrested on Friday at the Super 8 Motel on Michener Road.

According to police, he was accused of assaulting a female staff member.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
