Section of Keil Drive South to close for railway repairs

Commuters in Chatham might have to plan a different route this week.

Starting on Wednesday at 7 a.m., Keil Drive South will be closed between Richmond Street and Park Avenue West.

All lanes will be closed at the CN Railway Crossing, 75 metres north of Park Avenue West. Local traffic will be permitted up to the work zone from Richmond Street only. Meanwhile, emergency vehicles will also not have access through the work zone.

The road closure is being done to allow CN Railway crews to repair the train tracks.

According to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, the roadway will reopen on Friday at 5 p.m.

The detour route is Richmond Street to Bloomfield Road to Park Avenue West.
