Local COVID-19 caseload up three

Lambton Public Health reported three new cases of COVID-19 Friday.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 3,647 confirmed infections, up three from Thursday, increasing the active case count to seven.

There was no change to the number of resolved cases, which sits at 3,572, and the local death toll stands at 68.

Bluewater Health had one COVID-positive patient in hospital, unchanged in the last 24 hours.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
