Search of Chatham residence turns up fentanyl, cell phones, cash

Four people have been arrested and charged after Chatham-Kent police searched a residence on Queen Street in Chatham and found some illegal drugs.

Police said they executed a search warrant Tuesday night and found approximately $22,000 worth of suspected fentanyl along with some digital scales, some cell phones, and a large amount of Canadian cash.

A 26-year-old Chatham man, a 42-year-old Chatham woman, a 52-year-old Chatham man, and a 51-year-old man of no fixed address were all arrested and charged with drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

They were all later released from custody with future court dates.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
