COVID-19 cases rise in Midwestern Ontario

Huron Perth Public Health added eight new cases of COVID-19 Friday, five in North Perth, and one in Stratford, South Huron and Huron East. There ae 16 active cases.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added four new case of COVID-19 Friday, two in Owen Sound, and one each in Georgian Bluffs and South Bruce Peninsula. There are 27 active cases. Four residents are hospitalized due to the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reports one hospitalization due to the virus. Seven new cases were added in the region today, two of them in Wellington. There are five active cases in Wellington County.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
