Active COVID case count drops below 10

The number of active COVID-19 cases in Sarnia-Lambton dropped to eight Friday morning.

Lambton Public Health reported five more recoveries and no new cases in its most recent daily update.

There have been a total of 3,692 confirmed cases in the region since the beginning of the pandemic and 3,615 resolved cases.

The local death toll remains unchanged at 69.

Bluewater Health has no COVID-19 patients in hospital.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
