COVID-19 testing project at Bruce Grey Catholic high schools

The Bruce Grey Catholic School Board has announced a provincially led pilot project for a COVID-19 testing strategy in targeted secondary schools.

Both Sacred Heart High School Walkerton (SHHS) and St. Mary’s High School Owen Sound (SMHS) have been selected for this pilot.

The pilot phase will last for a total of eight weeks, ending on October 29th, 2021.

The pilot project is intended for vaccinated, asymptomatic high-risk contacts.

Students are not required to disclose their vaccination status in order to participate in the pilot and participation in the pilot is voluntary for staff or students.

Students, staff, and families will continue to have the option to seek testing through their local assessment centre or the option to isolate.
