Active COVID-19 infections up to 18

Lambton Public Health reported a spike in COVID-19 cases Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported nine new confirmed cases of the virus, up to 3,707 since the start of the pandemic.

The number of cases considered resolved increased by one to 3,620 and the number of active infections went up by eight to 18.

Lambton Public Health said as of August 21, there have been 14 confirmed cases among fully vaccinated Lambton residents and 112 infections among those considered partially vaccinated.

Bluewater Health has no COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
