Active COVID infections up three in Sarnia-Lambton

The number of active COVID-19 infections in Sarnia-Lambton is nearing 30.

Lambton Public Health Monday reported four new cases of the virus, up to 3,725 since the start of the pandemic.

The number of cases deemed resolved went up by one to 3,627, increasing the number of active cases by three to 29.

Last Tuesday, there were 11 active infections in the municipality.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is reporting a confirmed student case at St. Matthew school in Sarnia. One cohort at the elementary school has been sent home.

The death toll stands at 69.

There is one COVID-positive patient reported at Bluewater Health, the first since August 18.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
