Friday's COVID-19 case count edges up

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added 2 new cases of COVID-19 today. There are 26 active cases.  Two residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public health added 41 new cases today, 5 in Wellington, where there are 39 active cases. Across that jurisdiction, five residents are hospitalized with COVID-19.

Huron-Perth Public Health added 4 new cases, with 2 each in North Perth and Perth East. There are 33 active cases and the outbreak at Knollcrest Lodge is still listed as active.

Ontario health officials added 795 new COVID-19 cases on Friday as well as five more deaths due to the disease.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
