Terry Fox Runs in CK raise thousands

For the second year in a row, the annual Terry Fox Run was a virtual event, but that didn't stop hundreds of residents from across Chatham-Kent from signing up and participating.

The largest local run was in Dresden, where 69 participants have raised over $26,000 and counting. Last year they raised a record-breaking $44,000.

In Tilbury, 13 virtual participants online raised over $5,000, but a lemonade stand put on by 6-year-old Lauren Meadows of Comber raised over $8,000. Lauren and her friends hosted a lemonade stand on Saturday in Comber, then on Sunday, they sold out of lemonade, cookies, and candy at the Mega Machine Party at the Tilbury Auto Mall.

In Blenheim, 11 participants have raised $4,575. In Wallaceburg, there were 16 people registered online, and so far they've brought in $15,000. Chatham's virtual run had 26 participants and has raised $3,275. In Ridgetown, five people raised $1,600.
