Chatham woman killed in fatal train crash identified

Chatham-Kent police have identified a Chatham woman who died after being struck by a VIA Rail passenger train.

Police said 42-year-old Jennifer Tong was pronounced dead at the scene. Her dog also died in the collision.

Police responded to the scene shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday, along the CN Railway on Park Avenue West near Wedgewood Avenue.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
