Possible COVID-19 exposure linked to Wheatley church

Health officials in Windsor-Essex are notifying the public of a potential COVID-19 exposure at a church in Wheatley.

According to the health unit, the exposure is linked to The Church of God on 1303 Mersea Road 8. Anyone who attended the church on September 19 and September 22  is advised monitor themselves for symptoms for the next 14 days and seek testing should any develop.

"The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit will reach out directly to anyone identified as a high-risk close contact of a confirmed case to provide further instructions," read a release from the health unit.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can range from mild to more severe. Anyone who is symptomatic is advised to stay home and take the online self-assessment.

A list of all public exposures in Windsor-Essex can be found on the health unit's website. Locations are removed from the list 14 days after the last exposure date.
