High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The local active COVID-19 case count is nearing 100. 
On Friday, <a href="https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/2019-novel-coronavirus/">Lambton Public Health</a> reported 26 new confirmed infections for a total of 3,887 since the start of the pandemic. 
The health unit also reported 10 more resolved cases, increasing the active case count by 16 to 95. 
The death toll is unchanged at 70, and there are four <a href="https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/2019-novel-coronavirus/summary-of-covid-19-cases-in-lambton-county/">active outbreaks</a> in the community.
Since it was closed for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the health unit did not provide an update on Thursday.
<a href="https://www.bluewaterhealth.ca/covid-19-novel-coronavirus-information-frequently-asked-questions">Bluewater Health</a> has two COVID-positive patients in hospital, up from zero on Thursday.
