Sarnia-Lambton active COVID-19 case count reaches 100

The local active COVID-19 caseload reached 100 Saturday.

Lambton Public Health reported 16 new cases of the infection with 11 cases deemed resolved.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020 there have been 3,903 confirmed cases of the virus in Sarnia-Lambton, and 3,733 recoveries.

The death toll is unchanged at 70 and there are three outbreaks, down one since Friday.

On Friday, Bluewater Health had two COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
