Active COVID-19 case count up 11

Lambton Public Health reported nearly two dozen new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported 23 new confirmed infections, for a total of 3,963 since the start of the pandemic.

There were 12 more cases deemed resolved, up to 3,795, increasing the active case count by 11 to 98.

There are two active outbreaks, down one from Wednesday. An outbreak declared on September 24 at Bkejwanong Kinomaagewgamig Elementary School at Walpole Island First Nation has ended.

There are six Sarnia-Lambton elementary schools with the public school board reporting at least one student case. The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is reporting three student cases at St. Patrick's High School. All schools are open.

Bluewater Health has two COVID-positive patients in hospital, down two in the last 24 hours.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
