COVID-19 continues to plague Midwestern Ontario

Four new cases of COVID-19 were reported in past 24 hours in Grey Bruce, two in Hanover, and two in Saugeen Shores. There are 24 active cases. One hospitalization.

Huron Perth Public Health added four new cases of the novel coronavirus in Perth South, West Perth and Stratford. There are 50 active cases. Two people are hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reports four residents fighting COVID-19 in hospital, two of them in the ICU. Across the jurisdiction, seven new cases were confirmed Thursday, five of them in Wellington County. There are 22 active cases in Wellington. Unvaccinated individuals are in hospital with COVID-19 at a rate that is 29 times higher than those who are fully vaccinated.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
