CK police briefs – Saturday, October 9, 2021

A man and a woman from Mount Hope are facing charges following an attempted theft from a Tilbury business.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said on Saturday, two people were caught on video camera attempting to steal an ATV and a riding lawnmower from the Queen Street business.  The pair fled the scene when police arrived.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested by officers in a nearby parking lot, while a 44-year-old man was located and arrested in a nearby wooded area with the help of the police canine unit.

The man suffered a leg injury while in the wooded area and was taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment.

Police have not disclosed what charges the pair is facing, however, they have been released with a future court date.
