Active COVID-19 case count drops by six

The active COVID-19 caseload dropped by six Sunday.

Lambton Public Health reported six new confirmed cases of the virus in Sarnia-Lambton and 12 resolved cases, lowering the active case count to 92.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, there have been 3,994 confirmed cases with 3,832 deemed resolved.

The local death toll remains at 70 and there are two active outbreaks.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
