LPH reports 16 new COVID cases

Lambton Public Health reported 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Tuesday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported the caseload has reached 4,088 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

There were 13 more cases deemed resolved up to 3,937, increasing the active case count by three to 81.

The death toll stands at 70 and there are five school and workplace outbreaks.

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has confirmed cases reported at five local schools, and there are 10 schools with the Lambton Kent District School Board reporting infections.

Bluewater Health has six COVID-positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
