COVID caseload up 15, outbreaks down one

Lambton Public Health reported a double digit increase in COVID-19 cases Friday.

The health unit reported 15 new confirmed cases of the virus and six resolved cases, increasing the active case count by nine to 97.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 4,127 confirmed infections, 3,960 resolved cases and 70 deaths.

There are four active outbreaks, down one from Thursday. An outbreak declared at an unnamed workplace on October 8 has ended.

Bluewater Health had seven COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from the day before.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
