Firefighters battle garage fire in Wallaceburg

Damage is pegged at around $300,000 following a garage fire in Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Service said firefighters from Stations 2 and 3 along with three volunteer firefighters were called to the scene along with a tanker from Station 5, were called to the blaze at 7285 Base Line at around 11:44 a.m. on Sunday.

Fire officials said quick action by the crew managed to protect the house from becoming involved in the fire.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is going down as accidental.
