Sarnia-Lambton COVID caseload up nine

For the second day in a row, Lambton Public Health reported a single-digit increase in COVID-19 cases.

The health unit reported nine new infections and eight resolved cases Monday, increasing the active case count by one to 87.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 4,152 confirmed cases, 3,995 resolved cases and 70 deaths.

There are four active school outbreaks. The latest was declared at Queen Elizabeth II Public School in Petrolia on Friday, October 22.

On Sunday, an outbreak reported at an unnamed workplace on October 3 was declared over.

Bluewater Health had seven COVID positive patients in hospital.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
