Active COVID case count drops significantly

The local active COVID-19 case count has dropped significantly.

Lambton Public Health reported three new confirmed cases of the virus Tuesday and 24 resolved cases, lowering the active case count by 21 to 66.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 4,155 confirmed infections, 4,019 resolved cases and 70 local deaths.

The number of school outbreaks dropped from four to three Tuesday. An outbreak declared on October 12 at Confederation Central Public School is over.

Bluewater Health has six COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
