High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

You can expect partly cloudy in the morning, with rain in the afternoon

The local active COVID-19 case count has dropped significantly.
<a href="https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/2019-novel-coronavirus/">Lambton Public Health</a> reported three new confirmed cases of the virus Tuesday and 24 resolved cases, lowering the active case count by 21 to 66.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 4,155 confirmed infections, 4,019 resolved cases and 70 local deaths.
<a href="https://lambtonpublichealth.ca/2019-novel-coronavirus/summary-of-covid-19-cases-in-lambton-county/">The number of school outbreaks</a> dropped from four to three Tuesday. An outbreak declared on October 12 at Confederation Central Public School is over.
<a href="https://www.bluewaterhealth.ca/covid-19-novel-coronavirus-information-frequently-asked-questions">Bluewater Health</a> has six COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one from Monday.
