New COVID-19 cases added in Midwestern Ontario Wednesday

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added one new case in Owen Sound, and a dozen active cases. Two residents are in hospital with the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health reported six new cases, five in Perth East and one in Stratford. There are 25 active cases, and two hospitalizations due to COVID-19.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported three residents are fighting the virus in hospital. There were five new cases added in Wellington County Wednesday. There are three active cases in Mapleton, three in Wellington North and one in Minto.

Ontario confirmed another 321 cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, as well as ten additional deaths linked to the disease. Of the cases, 118 involve those who are fully vaccinated. Right now, there are 215 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 188 patients who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
