Single digit increase in COVID cases Thursday

Lambton Public Health reported another single digit increase in COVID-19 infections Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported six new cases for a total of 4,164 since the start of the pandemic. There have been eight more resolved cases up to 4,041 and another death, an individual in their 90s, for a total of 71.

On Wednesday, Bluewater Health reported the 56th COVID-related death at the hospital was a local man. There are four positive patients in hospital, unchanged from Wednesday.

The active case count dropped by three to 52.

There are two school outbreaks, down one. An outbreak declared at Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School on October 14 has ended.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
