Active COVID case count drops below 50

The local active COVID-19 case count has dropped below 50.

Lambton Public Health reported four new cases of the virus Friday and 10 resolved cases, lowering the active case count by six to 46.

Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020 there have been 4,168 confirmed infections, 4,051 resolved cases and 71 deaths.

There is one active school outbreak, down one from Thursday. An outbreak at Cathcart Boulevard Public School declared on October 14 has ended.

Bluewater Health has three COVID-positive patients in hospital, down one.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
