Active COVID case count drops to 35

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sarnia-Lambton decreased by four Sunday to 35.

Lambton Public Health reported two new confirmed cases of the virus along with six resolved cases.

Since the pandemic began in March 2020, there have been 4,177 confirmed infections and 4,071 recoveries.

The local death toll remains at 71 and there are two active outbreaks in the community.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
