Active COVID case count up six

Lambton Public Health reported nine new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported the caseload since the start of the pandemic has reached 4,209. The number of cases deemed resolved has increased by three to 4,097, increasing the active case count by six to 41.

There are three active outbreaks, unchanged from Wednesday.

There are two local schools with the Lambton-Kent District School Board reporting at least one student or staff case of the virus. The St. Clair Catholic District School Board is reporting just one student case at St. Patrick's High School.

Bluewater Health has three COVID-positive patients in hospital.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
