Maroons edge Vipers 3-2

The Maroons topped the LaSalle Vipers 3-2 in Chatham on Sunday.

The Vipers opened the scoring with the first goal 17:01 into the first period. LaSalle took a two-nothing lead over the Maroons with another goal 19:34 into the period.

The Maroons quickly turned things around in the second period with Isaac LeGood scoring at the 3:29 mark. The Maroons capped off the period and tied up the game with a goal by Lucas Fancy at 7:41.

Fancy scored his second goal of the game and the final goal of the night at 5:56 into the third, defeating LaSalle 3-2.

Maroons goaltender Brenden Stroble made 29 saves out of 31 shots on net.

The Maroons will be hitting the road for their next game on Friday to take on the St. Thomas Stars at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
