Active COVID cases up five

Lambton Public Health reported nine new cases of COVID-19 Monday.

In its daily update, the health unit reported the caseload since the start of the pandemic has reached 4,243. The number of resolved cases increased by four to 4,120, resulting in 52 active infections, up five from Sunday.

The death toll is unchanged at 71, and there are outbreaks reported at two schools and two unnamed workplaces.

Bluewater Health has seven COVID-positive patients in hospital, up from four on Friday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
