COVID hospitalizations up at Bluewater Health

There were just three new cases of COVID-19 reported in Sarnia-Lambton Tuesday.

Lambton Public Health said since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, there have been 4,246 confirmed infections locally. Six more cases have been deemed resolved, lowering the active case count by three to 49.

There are three active outbreaks, down one from Monday. An outbreak declared at an unnamed workplace October 29 has ended.

Bluewater Health had eight COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Monday.

Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said two of the patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),  and one is on a ventilator.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
