Active COVID cases down two in SL

There were eight new cases of COVID-19 reported in Sarnia-Lambton Thursday morning, along with 10 recoveries.

Active infections are now at 35, down two over the past 24 hours, and active outbreaks are still at four.

Over the past week, there have been 15.2 cases per 100,000 population -- it's the 13th highest case-rate among Ontario's 34 public health regions.

There have been 4,296 confirmed cases over the course of the pandemic, including 4,187 recoveries, and 74 COVID-related deaths.

Bluewater Health is reporting five COVID-positive patients in hospital, up one from Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
