60th COVID death reported at Bluewater Health

Bluewater Health is reporting another COVID-19 death at the hospital.

It is the 60th related death at the site since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said the patient was a woman in her 80s.

There are five COVID-positive patients at the hospital, down one from Friday.

Lambton Public Health reported seven more confirmed cases of the virus as well as seven resolved cases, leaving the number of active infections unchanged at 40.

To date, there have been 4,323 confirmed cases, 4,209 recoveries and 74 deaths reported in Sarnia-Lambton.

There are two outbreaks. Over the weekend, the health unit stated that an outbreak at Brigden Public School where eight cases had been reported, is now over.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
