Local COVID-19 vaccination rates creep up

COVID- 19 Vaccination rates vary across Midwestern Ontario.

In Wellington Dufferin Guelph, Public Health reported 87% of residents over 12 are fully vaccinated. The health department reports unvaccinated residents are 17.4 times more likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 compared to vaccinated individuals.

Huron Perth Public Health reports 83.4% of of eligible residents have two doses.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit reports 84.2% of residents 12 plus are fully vaccinated.

Across Ontario, 79.7% of people aged five and up have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
