Porchlight comes up big for Chatham Goodfellows

After a year off due to COVID-19, the Porchlight campaign came back in a big way.

On Monday night volunteers for the Chatham Goodfellows went door-to-door and collected $50,087 in donations.

That's up from 2019 when they brought in $31,400. Porchlight was a virtual fundraiser in 2020.

The Chatham Goodfellows will be at the Real Canadian Superstore in Chatham on Tuesday with Blackburn Media for their annual "Santa's Day Off" toy drive.

Street sales will go Friday, December 10th and Saturday, December 11th. Volunteers will be outside local businesses collecting donations.

The Goodfellows office is open until Friday, December 3rd. Food and toy hamper pick-up will take place on December 17th and 18th. at the from Sears store in the Downtown Chatham Centre.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
