CK police identify driver after fatal crash

Chatham-Kent police have released more details about a fatal single-vehicle crash near Dresden over the weekend that claimed the life of the driver.

Police said their investigation into the crash on Croton Line between Hale School Road and Oakdale Road showed that the driver -- who was the only person inside the vehicle at the time -- was heading east on Croton Line at around 10 p.m. on Friday, November 26, 2021 when he lost control of the vehicle, sending it off the road before it hit a tree and started on fire.

Officers said the driver who died as a result of the crash was identified as 21-year-old Jacob Lagace of Florence after a post-mortem in Toronto.

The collision is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Josh Flikweert at joshuaf@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
