Local COVID caseload up 10, resolved up seven

The local COVID-19 caseload has seen another double digit increase.

In its daily update Thursday, Lambton Public Health reported 10 new confirmed cases and seven resolved cases, increasing the active case count by three to 43.

Since the start of the pandemic there have been 4,384 confirmed infections, 4,274 recoveries and 77 deaths.

The number of active outbreaks has dropped by one to two. Bluewater Health Wednesday said an outbreak in the complex continuing care unit has ended.

There are three COVID-positive patients at the Sarnia hospital, unchanged from Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
