Lambton Public Health reports 78th COVID death

There has been another local COVID-19 related death.

Lambton Public Health reported the 78th death linked to the virus in its daily update Friday.

Bluewater Health Communications Chief Julia Oosterman said the latest death, the 62nd at the hospital since the start of the pandemic, was a man in his 80s.

There is one positive patient at Bluewater Health, down two from Thursday.

The health unit reported 12 new confirmed infections along with seven resolved cases Friday, increasing the active COVID case count by four to 47.

Since March 2020, there have been 4,406 cases and 4,281 recoveries locally.

There are two active outbreaks, unchanged since Thursday.
