Local COVID caseload up 11

Lambton Public Health is reporting a double digit increase in COVID-19 cases.

In its daily update Tuesday, the health unit reported the caseload since the start of the pandemic reached 4,445, up 11 from Monday.

The number of cases considered resolved increased by seven to 4,302, increasing the number of active infections by four to 65.

There are five active outbreaks in the community, up by one. The latest was declared on Monday, after two cases were linked to an unnamed workplace in Lambton County.

Bluewater Health had three COVID-positive patients in hospital, up by two since Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
